The Pulse. The heart of it.
Spanda: the pulse. The subtle throb of aliveness beneath everything you feel, want, and do.
The Spanda Karikas, our guiding text for these five days, teach that one living pulse moves through all of life, and that the heart is where we feel it most directly. This immersion is a return to it, through the three powers of Shakti: desire, awareness, and expression.
Desire is not something to transcend, but sacred information: your longing is Shakti showing you where your aliveness wants to go. Met with awareness, it reveals its source and points you toward your deepest intention, opening the heart into unlimited creative expression. This is a five-day return to your own unique life force.
We will gather at The IN Movement in Ubud, Bali, a landscape that is lush, devotional, and alive, where we are fully nourished and supported as we practise.
CURRICULUM
The Pulse rests on the three powers of Shakti described in the Spanda Karikas: desire, awareness, and expression.
These are the currents that run through the whole immersion, explored through daily practice, study, and inquiry.
Desire / will (Icchā): The first, undivided creative impulse, arising from the freedom of consciousness (svātantrya)
Knowledge / awareness (Jñāna): The power of knowing that illumines and holds all that desire has stirred
Action / expression (Kriyā): The outward movement that brings will and awareness into form
Daily Sadhana

YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Tahl Rinsky has taught yoga for over twenty-five years. She is the founder of Haum Space in Byron Bay; a studio, an online platform, and a yoga school, and she teaches and mentors around the world.
Her teaching is strong and soulful, grounded in tradition and alive to modern life; moving between vinyasa, slow flow, meditation and restorative practice. It tends to begin with the body on the mat and open out into something larger, the way a person moves, thinks, and lives.
Tahl leads retreats across the globe and guides teachers through Haum's trainings and mentorship. She is a writer and an artist, and a mother of three.

LOCATION
Pulse is held at The IN Movement in Nyuh Kuning, Ubud, a calm refuge in the heart of Bali. We practise in the Sekala shala, a light-filled, air-conditioned studio set among the rice fields, with mats, props, and sound all provided. The property also has an on-site restaurant and recovery centre.
Nyuh Kuning is one of Ubud's gentler corners, a village of artists and woodcarvers on the edge of the Monkey Forest, minutes from the centre of Ubud yet far quieter. Ubud is the cultural and spiritual heart of Bali: rice paddies, temples, morning offerings on every doorstep, and a long tradition of welcoming practitioners from around the world. The days are warm and green, the food is fresh, and beautiful cafes, organic kitchens, and local warungs sit within a short walk.
